To thoroughly study and implement the spirit of President Xi Jinping's important speech at the conference commemorating the 105th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, and to put into practice the spirit of his important reply letter to representatives of the recipients of the China Youth May Fourth Medal and the New Era Youth Pioneer Award, while aligning with the goals of the 15th Five-Year Plan, the Youth League Committee of the Beijing Municipal Health Commission held a thematic sharing event of the 2026 China Youth May Fourth Medal and the New Era Youth Pioneer Award on July 3 to inspire young professionals in the capital's health system to contribute to the development of Healthy Beijing. Leaders from the Organization Department of the Communist Youth League of China Central Committee attended to provide guidance, and more than 140 young professionals from tertiary hospitals and affiliated institutions participated on site.

The event opened with a short feature film titled "Youth Answers the Call", which highlighted authentic stories of young professionals serving on the front lines across the capital. The film vividly showcased the spirit of the new generation of youth, who pursue their ideals through dedication and fulfill their missions through responsibility.

The event featured presentations by Zhi Deyuan of Beijing Friendship Hospital, recipient of the 2026 China Youth May Fourth Medal; Feng Zhaomin of the Beijing Center for Disease Prevention and Control, Dong Li of Beijing Tongren Hospital, Wang Yeming of China-Japan Friendship Hospital, and Guo Manting of the China Rehabilitation Research Center, recipients of the 2026 New Era Youth Pioneer Award; as well as Wang Si of Xuanwu Hospital, Min Li of Beijing Friendship Hospital, and Chen Liang of Fuwai Hospital, recipients of the 36th Beijing Youth May Fourth Medal. Drawing on their own professional experiences, the eight outstanding young representatives spoke about the responsibilities and aspirations of medical professionals in the new era. Their inspiring stories vividly reflected the original commitment of healthcare workers to safeguarding people's health and demonstrated the professionalism, courage, dedication, and pioneering spirit of young professionals across Beijing's health sector. Their heartfelt accounts of serving patients and remaining steadfast on the front lines deeply resonated with the audience, creating a warm and inspiring atmosphere throughout the event.

The sharing session provided young professionals across the health system with a valuable platform to learn from exemplary role models and benchmark themselves against outstanding peers, further strengthening the culture of dedication and responsibility among the capital's healthcare youth. Looking ahead, the Youth League Committee of the Beijing Municipal Health Commission will continue to enrich platforms for ideological education, expand channels for promoting exemplary role models, and guide young healthcare professionals in Beijing to keep President Xi Jinping's instructions firmly in mind. By strengthening their ideals and convictions, embracing the nation's broader mission, and continuously improving their professional capabilities, they will transform the power of role models into motivation for practical action and contribute youthful energy to the frontline of building a Healthy Beijing.
