On July 7, to implement the requirements of the National Health Commission regarding priority access to blood for blood donors and to safeguard the rights and interests of blood donors and their eligible family members nationwide, the Beijing Municipal Health Commission convened a citywide meeting to advance the implementation of the priority blood use policy. More than 310 representatives from district health commissions, the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area Social Affairs Bureau, blood centers, the Beijing Clinical Blood Transfusion Quality Control Center, and medical institutions providing transfusion services attended the meeting online.

During the meeting, participants were briefed on the national policy requirements for priority blood use and Beijing's implementation plan. The meeting also introduced the workflow for the Priority Blood Use module in the "Capital Blood Donation" mini-program. In addition, Peking University People's Hospital, as one of the pilot hospitals, shared its practical experience in implementing the system.

The meeting emphasized that all districts, blood centers, and medical institutions providing transfusion services should earnestly implement the national and municipal requirements for protecting blood donors' priority access to blood. They were instructed to strengthen staff training, enhance policy communication, and promote the use of the city's priority blood use mini-program. These efforts aim to establish an efficient closed-loop mechanism that fulfills the national requirements of "direct application submission to hospitals, earlier review and approval, and synchronized coordination with blood centers" for priority blood use services.
