Dear Family Doctors,
There is a kind of devotion rooted deeply in the community—you are the health guardians closest to the people. In this beautiful season full of hope and vitality, we welcome the 16th World Family Doctor Day with great respect and heartfelt gratitude. Under this year’s theme, “Meaningful Contracted Services, Warm-Hearted Care,” we extend our sincerest holiday greetings to all family doctors who work tirelessly on the front lines of primary healthcare every day. It is you who walk through streets and neighborhoods, entering homes and understanding the needs of families. It is you who care deeply about the well-being of the people, easing their worries and warming their hearts. Your dedication and perseverance provide the strongest and warmest safeguard for the health of our city’s residents. On behalf of the Beijing Municipal Health Commission, we would like to express our highest respect and warmest holiday wishes to all grassroots healthcare workers represented by family doctors, who have long remained devoted to primary healthcare with selfless dedication and quiet commitment. We also extend our heartfelt thanks and sincere regards to your family members, who have silently shouldered family responsibilities and fully supported your work over the years.
There is a kind of responsibility called conscientious dedication. Through your quiet actions, you embody the tremendous responsibility of being “guardians of public health.” Looking back over the years, your presence has been seen in every corner of grassroots medical services. We are pleased to see many family doctor teams actively innovating service models and implementing convenient measures such as long-term prescriptions, medication shortage registration, weekend vaccination services, and home-based medical care. You have worked diligently to carry out national basic public health programs and ensure that contracted residents can truly benefit from appointment referrals, chronic disease management, rehabilitation nursing, hospice care, and other accessible healthcare services. On ordinary posts, you have achieved extraordinary accomplishments, practicing the professional spirit of “respecting life, saving lives, dedication, and boundless compassion” through concrete actions. You are indispensable and admirable contributors to the building of a Healthy Beijing. Here, the Municipal Health Commission expresses its fullest recognition and deepest gratitude for your remarkable achievements.
There is also a kind of care called constant concern. Your worries and difficulties are matters we are committed to addressing wholeheartedly. While you protect the health of residents on the front lines, we remain committed to supporting and caring for you behind the scenes. The Municipal Health Commission has always paid close attention to the working conditions and living guarantees of grassroots healthcare workers and remains deeply concerned about the urgent needs and challenges faced by frontline personnel. We stand together with you in solidarity and support. We will continue promoting the implementation of support policies and further improve the training and career development system for general practitioners. We will listen carefully to your voices and concerns, work sincerely to help solve practical difficulties in your work and daily lives, and strive to create a warmer and more promising professional environment and development space for family doctors throughout the city. While dedicating yourselves to caring for residents, we also hope you will take good care of your own health, maintain a positive mindset, and balance work with rest. Your health is equally important to us.
There is a kind of mission called bearing great responsibility. The call to advance and strive for new achievements is inspiring us to move forward once again. The 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, subsequent plenary sessions, and the 2026 National People’s Congress and Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference sessions have made systematic arrangements for the high-quality development of healthcare in the new era, especially emphasizing the need to “strengthen contracted family doctor services.” Let us take this publicity and service month as an opportunity to focus closely on the theme of “Meaningful Contracted Services, Warm-Hearted Care.” Let us actively reach out to nursing homes, schools and kindergartens, functional communities, and residential neighborhoods, ensuring proper information disclosure, on-site contract signing, and effective fulfillment of services. Special attention should be given to elderly residents of advanced age and patients with chronic diseases. We should further improve home visits, family sickbeds, health guidance, and other health management services, while strictly implementing the principle of “signing for every resident, fulfilling services for every resident, and delivering practical care for every resident.” Let us treat the trust of residents as the torch that guides us forward. With more practical work styles, more refined medical skills, and greater sincerity, let us safeguard the health of every contracted resident and make new contributions to the building of Healthy Beijing.
Finally, we once again extend our highest respect to all of you. We sincerely wish all family doctors across Beijing, as well as your supportive family members, a happy holiday, smooth work, good health, and family happiness. May we move forward together and build an even healthier and brighter future for Beijing.
