From November 11 to 12, 2025, the finals of the Immunization Competition—part of the National Vocational Skills Competition for China’s Health System—were held in Qingdao, Shandong Province. Demonstrating strong teamwork and determination, the Beijing Municipal Team stood out among 32 teams nationwide, placing 5th overall and winning the Group Second Prize. Meanwhile, Jia Shupei from the Huilongguan Community Health Service Center in Changping District won the Individual Second Prize in the Immunization Group. Zhao Dan from the Beijing Center for Disease Prevention and Control received the Third Prize in the Disease Control Group. Sun Lei from the Shijingshan District Center for Disease Prevention and Control and Li Lin from the Shichahai Community Health Service Center in Xicheng District both received Individual Excellence Awards.
To prepare for the competition, the Beijing Municipal Health Commission, Beijing Municipal CDC, and Beijing Federation of Trade Unions made thorough arrangements and collaborated closely. They jointly organized municipal-level competitions and, through a step-by-step selection process, fostered a strong atmosphere of “learning knowledge, sharpening skills, enhancing capabilities, and strengthening foundations”, carrying out vocational skills practice in the whole city. More than 2,100 professionals across the city participated in the preliminary round, with 70 technical backbones advancing to the semifinals, 85% of whom held senior or intermediate professional titles. After intense competition, 20 professional technical backbones entered specialized training. Through systematic theoretical instruction, skills practice, and simulation drills, four contestants were ultimately selected to represent Beijing in the national finals.
During the finals, the Beijing team showcased the professionalism and excellence of the capital’s immunization workforce. Competing among strong contenders, they secured the Group Second Prize with solid theoretical knowledge, standardized operational skills, and outstanding on-site performance.
This competition served as a comprehensive assessment and affirmation of the achievements in Beijing’s immunization talent development. Moving forward, the Beijing Center for Disease Prevention and Control will use this as a new starting point to further strengthen professional training, enhance immunization service capacity, and advance key tasks such as vaccine administration, scientific adjustment of the immunization program, and digital empowerment of immunization services. These efforts will help fortify the capital’s immunity barrier and promote the high-quality development of Beijing’s immunization program.
