On January 22, 2025, the Spring Festival Remote Greeting Activity for Overseas Medical Aid Teams was held at the Beijing Municipal Health Commission. He Zhaohua, Deputy Director-General and First-Level Inspector of the Department of International Cooperation of the National Health Commission, and Zhong Dongbo, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Beijing Municipal Health Commission, attended the meeting and delivered speeches. Liu Juncai, Director of the Beijing Municipal Health Commission, presided over the event.
On behalf of the Department of International Cooperation of the National Health Commission, He Zhaohua extended New Year’s greetings to all overseas medical aid team members and their families. He noted that Beijing's work in overseas medical aid has consistently led the nation. The medical teams aiding Guinea and Vanuatu have fully demonstrated the spirit of Chinese medical teams, with their experiences and practices being valuable for promotion and replication. He expressed hope that Beijing would continue to play a leading role and make greater contributions to implementing the China-Africa Cooperation Forum and the national health work agenda.
Zhong Dongbo extended New Year wishes and sincere greetings to all members of the two medical teams dispatched from Beijing and their families. He reviewed the achievements of the medical teams in 2024 and expressed hope that they would continue strengthening party organization building, serving the national diplomatic agenda, and enriching the form and content of overseas medical aid. He emphasized the importance of maintaining safety as a bottom line, ensuring team unity, stability, and members' physical and mental health, and celebrating a safe, peaceful, joyful, and warm Spring Festival.
In the remarks and summary, Liu Juncai highlighted that over the past year, the two medical teams had overcome unimaginable difficulties and achieved remarkable results, fully demonstrating the spirit of health workers from China and the capital. She expressed gratitude to all overseas medical team members, their families, and the dispatching units for their contributions to the cause of overseas medical aid. She encouraged all members to keep up their efforts and carry forward the fine traditions of Chinese medical teams, contributing more capital strength to the high-quality development of overseas medical aid.
The leaders of the medical teams aiding Guinea and Vanuatu respectively reported on their work in 2024. The main leaders of the dispatching units sent blessings to the overseas medical team members far from home and pledged continued support for the various needs of the teams.
Zheng Jinpu, Second-Level Inspector of the Beijing Municipal Health Commission, along with key officials from the Office, International Cooperation Department, Medical Administration Department, Cadre Personnel Department, and the Party Committee of the Commission, as well as leaders and relevant middle-level officials from the dispatching units, participated in the event.
The 30th batch of the Guinea medical aid team and the 3rd batch of the Vanuatu medical aid team were dispatched to their respective recipient countries on September 15, 2023, and September 3, 2024, respectively. The Guinea medical aid team actively explored multiple areas such as integrated treatment of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, trauma emergency care, and minimally invasive techniques while promoting counterpart cooperation projects. The integrated cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diagnosis and treatment center at the China-Guinea Friendship Hospital was officially inaugurated. The 3rd batch of the Vanuatu medical aid team encountered a 7.3-magnitude earthquake in December 2024. Despite the challenging conditions of water, power, and internet outages, they promptly participated in local earthquake relief and medical rescue efforts, earning recognition and praise from both China and Vanuatu.
