On December 29, the Beijing Municipal Health Commission held a special meeting, chaired by Zhong Dongbo, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Municipal Health Commission, who also delivered a speech. Liu Juncai, Director of the Municipal Health Commission, conveyed the spirit of the Beijing’s work deployment meeting on safety and stability.

The meeting stressed that with the New Year's Day and Spring Festival approaching, the entire system should thoroughly study and implement the important instructions of General Secretary Xi Jinping. It is necessary to conscientiously carry out the deployment requirements set by the Municipal Party Committee and the Municipal Government, and coordinate efforts to safeguard people's livelihoods and ensure safety and stability. Special attention should be given to the following priorities. 1.Providing wholehearted care for the needy, addressing people's complaints immediately, and ensuring that citizens enjoy a happy, peaceful, and tranquil holiday while maintaining the safety and stability of the capital. 2. Enriching the material and cultural life of citizens during the holiday, expanding the categories of material supplies available.3. Implementing special actions to investigate and rectify hidden dangers related to production safety and natural disasters, focusing on key areas, increasing inspections, and addressing major risks and hidden dangers of accidents and disasters.4. Strengthening monitoring, early warning systems, and risk alerts. Preparing for extreme weather events such as strong winds, low temperatures, rain and snow, freezing conditions, and cold waves, to prevent secondary accidents and disasters.5. Deepening efforts to handle complaints promptly and effectively solve urgent issues faced by the public.6. Carrying out thorough patrol inspections to ensure the safe operation of the city.7. Strictly implementing the duty system, ensuring the 24-hour special duty system and leadership on duty are fully adhered to, and that personnel are on duty, responsible, and accountable.8. Persisting in the implementation of the Central Committee’s eight regulations, promoting diligence, civility, and honesty during the festival, and consistently correcting the “four styles” while establishing a new, positive work style.

The meeting emphasized that all units at all levels should conscientiously implement the spirit of Beijing's safety and stability work deployment meeting. It is necessary to place significant importance on the safety and stability of their own units and departments, with particular focus on ensuring medical service guarantees for vulnerable groups, screening and addressing medical disputes, ensuring hospital safety, and managing laboratory biosafety. Prevention must come first, and there should be a heightened focus on supervision and inspection during the holiday period. Problems and hidden dangers must be identified promptly, and safety and stability work must be carried out in a practical and meticulous manner, in order to protect the health and safety of the residents in Beijing and ensure the harmony and stability of society.

The meeting was attended by leading group members of the Municipal Health Commission, the Beijing Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, the Municipal Disease Control Bureau, the Beijing Hospitals Authority, main leaders of the health commissions of various districts, the Social Affairs Bureau of the Beijing Economic and Technological Development Zone, municipal hospitals, and the directly affiliated units of the Municipal Health Commission, as well as heads of various departments of the Municipal Health Commission.
