Municipal Health Commission Held Review and Summary Meeting for 2024 Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Comprehensive Health Emergency Drill and Health Emergency Modular Team Building Drill

Since October 2024, the Municipal Health Commission has been actively advancing the practical health emergency capabilities. It has organized 14 health emergency teams across the city, comprising over 250 members, and successfully conducted the 2024 Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Comprehensive Health Emergency Drill and the Health Emergency Modular Team Building Drill. On November 13, the Municipal Health Commission held a review and summary meeting to evaluate the outcomes of these drills and discuss improvements.

At the meeting, the participating units thoroughly reviewed their involvement in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Comprehensive Health Emergency Drill and the Health Emergency Modular Team Building Drill. They shared valuable practices and experiences from each unit. The two drills conducted in October were well-organized, thoroughly prepared, and effectively supported, with participants cooperating closely and coordinating seamlessly. The participating units discussed the issues identified during the drills, proposed improvements, and shared suggestions for future work. They focused on summarizing lessons learned and analyzing challenges. Moving forward, efforts will focus on optimizing and enhancing the design of drill scenarios, scientific personnel selection, response processes, on-site communication and coordination, technological innovation, and emergency material support.

Drills are a crucial tool for testing the feasibility of emergency plans, enhancing the response capabilities of emergency teams, and refining emergency management mechanisms. The meeting emphasized that through these drills, the health emergency systems and mechanisms should be further strengthened. It also called for the consolidation of health emergency teams and equipment to the highest standards, improvement of health emergency response capabilities driven by demand-oriented technological innovation and addressing uncertainties and risks through regular technical training.

Relevant responsible officials from the Municipal Disease Prevention and Control Bureau, Beijing Hospitals Authority, Changping District Health Commission, China-Japan Friendship Hospital, Peking University Third Hospital, Municipal Public Health Emergency Management Center, Municipal Disease Control Center, Beijing Emergency Center, Municipal Red Cross Rescue Service Center, Municipal Red Cross Blood Center, Tiantan Hospital, Jishuitan Hospital, Chaoyang Hospital, Ditan Hospital, Anding Hospital, Beijing Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Chaoyang District Health Supervision Institute, and other related units participated in the review and summary meeting.
