The "Beijing Laboratory Biosafety Skills Competition 2024" hosted by the Beijing Municipal Health Commission and the Beijing Medical and Health Science and Technology Promotion Center kicked off in May this year. More than 100 contestants were selected from 17 districts across Beijing to participate in the competition.

On July 31, the health administrative departments of each district and the participating teams of each district gathered together to launch a wonderful final competition of professional ability. After fierce competition in the four major projects of "Thinking Speed", "Immersive Clinic", "Speed Contest" and "Smart Sand Table", 17 districts and 85 contestants in the city finally won the special prize of the team of this competition, and Dongcheng District, Haidian District and Changping District won the first prize of the team competition. Biosafety experts from military, central and municipal units gave guidance to the contestants for their wonderful performance.

Deputy Director Deng Pingji of the Municipal Health Commission emphasized that this competition is an important measure to promote the improvement of the laboratory biosafety capabilities in Beijing. All districts should take the competition as an opportunity to earnestly implement various policy requirements for laboratory biosafety, deepen the construction of the capital's biosafety talent team, and continue to do a good job in biosafety risk prevention and control.
