On July 30, the Municipal Health Commission organized a half-year work meeting on primary health care in 2024. The responsible persons of the health commissions of each district, the Beijing Community Health Association, and the Beijing Health Promotion Association attended the meeting. The main responsible persons of the health commissions of each district, the primary health care departments, and the community health service centers in Beijing attended the meeting online.

At the work meeting, Jing Tong, director of the Primary Health Care Department, summarized the primary health care work in Beijing in the first half of 2024 and reported on the progress of key work. The Changping District Health Commission, Huairou District Health Commission, Pinggu District Health Commission, Xinjiekou Community Health Service Center, Xueyuan Road Community Health Service Center, and Puhuangyu Community Health Service Center made speeches on the topics of health management of key populations, family doctor contract services, rural medical and health services, and institutional management efficiency.

Wang Jianhui, deputy director of the Municipal Health Commission, delivered a special speech entitled "Strive to overcome difficulties and promote the high-quality development of primary health care work in Beijing" at the meeting, pointing out that we should fully recognize the characteristics and advantages of the grassroots and actively solve the problems that need to be solved at the grassroots. We should continue to improve the grassroots health care service capabilities and promote the provision of long-term prescription services for chronic diseases. It is necessary to provide family doctor contract services comprehensively, focus on basic medical services for the elderly and children, make full use of the sinking high-quality medical resources and improve the service capabilities of rural medical institutions.

It was required at the meeting that the promotion of primary health care work should take meeting the health needs of the people as the starting point, accelerate the improvement of capabilities, stimulate vitality, enhance the people's sense of gain and satisfaction with primary health care services, and promote the high-quality development of the capital's primary health care cause.
