February 4 is the Beginning of spring. As the Spring Festival is approaching, the Beijing Municipal Health Commission held a remote Spring Festival visiting activity for foreign aid medical teams to send warmth and wishes to all members and their families of the 30th batch of medical teams to Guinea and the 2nd batch of medical teams to Vanuatu. Zhong Dongbo, secretary of the Party Committee and Liu Juncai, Director of the Municipal Health Commission, attended the event and delivered speeches. Zeng Xiaopeng, Deputy Director of the Municipal Health Commission, Director of the Municipal Disease Control Bureau, and Director of the Municipal Center for Disease Control and Prevention attended the event. The event was hosted by Zheng Jinpu, a second-level inspector.
Liu Juncai said that the event spanned three time zones. Although they were thousands of miles apart, their hearts were close. She congratulated the two medical teams on their extraordinary, unusual, and difficult achievements in the past five months. On the occasion of the Spring Festival, she thanked all the foreign aid medical team members and their families, and all the dispatching units for their contributions to the foreign aid medical cause and hoped that everyone would achieve greater results in the foreign aid medical work in the Lunar Year of the Dragon.
On behalf of the Party Committee of the Municipal Health Commission, Zhong Dongbo expressed his respect to all the team members and their families. He pointed out that the work of the foreign aid medical team is very valuable. The members have overcome various difficulties and the work is very effective, which has effectively improved the local medical and health level. The Municipal Health Commission and all dispatching units will continue to be the strong backing of the medical team. He hoped that all team members will uphold the spirit of the foreign aid medical team, better combine medical services with diplomatic work, give full play to thier professional ability and technical level, and do a good job in all work under the premise of ensuring safety.
The leaders of the medical teams to Guinea and Vanuatu reported on the work of the medical teams respectively, and four team representatives shared their work experience. The leaders of the dispatching units, Jin Chunming, Zhang Hongjia and Huang Chun, spoke respectively, expressing that they will continue to do a good job in foreign aid medical security, effectively coordinate and solve the practical difficulties of the team members and their families, and provide better working and living conditions for the foreign aid medical team members.
The main responsible comrades of the International Cooperation Department, Medical Administration and Management Department, Public Rights and Interests Department, Party Committee and Cadre and Personnel Department of the Commission, and relevant leaders of the dispatching units participated in the event.
The 30th batch of medical aid team to Guinea and the 2nd batch of medical aid team to Vanuatu went to the recipient countries to carry out foreign aid medical missions on September 15 and September 13, 2023, respectively. In the past five months, the medical teams have written a new chapter in foreign aid medical work. The medical aid team to Guinea actively assisted the China-Guinea Friendship Hospital to comprehensively improve the level of clinical diagnosis and treatment and cultivated excellent professional talents for the localization of interventional diagnosis and treatment technology for cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases in Guinea. The "Cardiovascular and Cerebrovascular Disease Integrated Diagnosis and Treatment Project of China-Guinea Friendship Hospital" of 30 China-Africa counterpart mechanism cooperation projects were steadily implement, injecting continuous power into the development of Guinea's health cause. The medical aid team to Vanuatu bravely faced earthquake and hurricane disasters, carried out systematic teaching and training, promoted minimally invasive surgical techniques according to local conditions. They met the needs of patients and went to the difficult outer islands for free diagnosis. They conducted in-depth research and promoted the concept of disease prevention. In December 2023, at the 60th anniversary commemoration conference of the dispatch of Chinese medical aid teams to foreign countries, one team and two individuals from Beijing were awarded the title of advanced team and advanced individual in national foreign aid medical work.
