During the period between summer and autumn, from August 31 to September 1, 2023, the Municipal Health Commission held a training course for the essential workers of the retired party member vanguard team in the system, persisting in the principles of "learning ideas, strengthening party spirit, emphasizing practice, and building new achievements", and unremittingly strengthening the ideological and theoretical knowledge of the retired comrades in the system, and promoting the standardization and branding of the retired party member vanguard team. The director of the Retired Cadres Department of the Commission and the executive vice president of the Commission Party School attended the opening ceremony. More than 90 people, including heads and representatives of the retired party member vanguard teams, and heads of the retirement office of all units in the system, gathered to gain relevant knowledge.

Training and learning are rewarding. On the specially built reading exchange platform named "Silver Hair, Book Fragrance, and Taste of Truth”, two retired experts and party members came on stage to share their experiences and insights. Hu Lan, a retired Party member and chief physician of the Capital Institute of Pediatrics, took the topic of "Grasp the string of green development and promote harmonious coexistence between man and nature" to deeply study General Secretary Xi Jinping's important exposition on ecological civilization, tell the stories of people's livelihood with green priority around them, and guide the attendees to firmly establish the concept of "clear waters and green mountains are invaluable assets". Jiang Maochun, a member of the retired Party member vanguard team of Beijing Geriatric Hospital, delivered a speech themed "Recitation riches my heart". Through the music and recitation performed by the hospital team, he felt the spirit of the Long March, drew strength for growth, and insisted on being a happy reciter.

Focusing on the theme of party spirit training, the courses such as "Interpretation of the Spirit of the 20th National Congress of the CPC" and "Remembering History and Carrying Forward the Great Anti-Japanese War Spirit" were arranged. A systematic interpretation was made around the history of the Party, the spirit of the 20th National Congress of CPC, and the Party's innovative theories, continuously consolidating the ideological and theoretical foundation of retired cadres and improving the level of party spirit cultivation for retired cadres. Focusing on the positive view of aging and healthy aging, Zhang Jin, chief physician of Xiyuan Hospital was invited to give a course on "Good sleep and healthy diet", guiding retired comrades to keep pace with the times, get rid of the stale and take in the fresh, and "prevent illness" with traditional Chinese medicine. Focusing on "the major issues of the country", the courses such as "Current International Situation and China's Diplomacy" were organized to guide the retired comrades to broaden their international vision and strengthen their sense of responsibility.

During the training, a seminar and promotion meeting on the demonstration creation of the "Six Good" Party Branch for retired cadres was organized. Adhering to the "Six Good" creation standards, the Retired Cadres Department of the Commission made redeployments. Beijing Huilongguan Hospital made wonderful experience sharing, and various units put forward valuable opinions and suggestions, striving to meet the creation standards as the targets. At the evening special meeting, based on the two projects of "Retired Medical Experts Supporting Primary Medical and Health Services in Ecological Conservation Areas" of the Municipal Health Commission and "Retired Experts Serving Primary Health Action" of the National Health Commission, the Retired Cadres Department of the Commission discussed and exchanged with the heads of the retirement offices of various units, retired experts and retired party members, and made active mobilization on the basis of the introduction of the situation by the responsible staff of the Beijing Association of Retired Medical and Health Workers and the Talent Exchange Service Center of the National Health Commission, aiming to work together to build a ladder and platform for playing the advantages of the retired experts, and to gather strength for a healthy Beijing and a healthy China.

The training focused on learning while thinking and understanding while practicing, through "book sharing + theme training + special meetings" in an integrated manner. It responded to "the questions of workers", answered "the problems of retired comrades", and implemented "the strategy of doing practical things", guiding the essential workers of the retired party member vanguard team to learn one step ahead and learn more deeply, to promote the unity of all institutions in the system and common development. The retired party members said that they will take this training as an opportunity to further enhance their political, ideological and action consciousness, deeply study and implement Xi Jinping's thought on new era of socialism with Chinese characteristics and the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, keep their original aspirations, maintain their true colors, and continuously play their advantages, and strive to add new energy and make new contributions to the development of health and wellness industry.
