Beijing Municipal Health Commission Held Talks with Delegation from Bavaria, Germany

On April 29, 2024, Thorsten Freudenberger, Member of the Bavarian Parliament and Standing Commissioner of the Bavarian Health Committee, Germany and the delegation visited the Beijing Municipal Health Commission. Liu Juncai, Director of the Municipal Health Commission, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. Wang Jianhui, Deputy Director of the Municipal Health Commission, and Zheng Jinpu, the Second-Level Inspector, accompanied the meeting.

Liu Juncai welcomed Mr. Freudenberger and his delegation. Liu Juncai pointed out that Beijing and Bavaria are both regions facing similar health challenges with large population bases and high aging levels. He hoped that both sides would use this meeting to fully exchange useful practices and experiences and jointly contribute to building a health service system to avoid getting sick, or get sick less and late, and to provide effective diagnosis and treatment after illness. Liu Juncai also introduced Beijing’s favorable policies for the development of the biomedical industry and technological innovation. He hoped that German companies such as Siemens Healthcare would achieve greater development in Beijing and support the construction and growth of innovation centers in Beijing for companies such as Varian Medical.

Freudenberger expressed his gratitude to the Municipal Health Commission for their warm reception. He said that the German delegation was impressed by the development achievements of Beijing's medical and health system. He hoped that the two sides continued to deepen practical cooperation in the future.

At the meeting, the heads of relevant departments of the Municipal Health Commission and the Beijing Hospitals Authority introduced the medical system planning, performance management and information construction of medical institutions.
