March 5th is the 61st commemoration day to learn Lei Feng Spirit and the 25th Chinese Youth Volunteer Day. The Municipal Health Commission and the Municipal Youth League Committee jointly initiated the Capital Youth Voluntary Service Alliance for Free Blood Donation. They jointly organized the volunteer service practice activity for learning Lei Feng Spirit on "Protect Health and Contribute to a New Era with Youth" at the blood donation point at Beijing Railway Station, and launched the Volunteer Service and Care Action on "Learning Lei Feng Spirit Action of Beijing Municipal Health System" of 2024.
01 "Capital Youth Voluntary Service Alliance for Free Blood Donation" was established
Focusing on the key work of voluntary blood donation in the capital, under the guidance of the National Health Commission, the Municipal Health Commission and the Municipal Youth League Committee jointly launched the "Capital Youth Voluntary Service Alliance for Free Blood Donation" for the Beijing Municipal Government and various units in the health industry. The main purpose is to contact, unite, and gather outstanding young volunteers and voluntary service organizations in municipal government agencies and institutions and the health industry to jointly publicize for voluntary blood donation and mobilize the society, actively cultivate a good atmosphere for voluntary blood donation in the whole society, and help contribute youth power to the construction of a healthy Beijing.
Since the initiative to solicit member units was released, the number of alliance member units has reached 30. At the event, the Secretary of the Youth League Committee of the agency directly under the National Health Commission presented the flag to the leading unit of the "Capital Youth Voluntary Service Alliance for Free Blood Donation". The head of the Municipal Work Department of the Youth League issued certificates to representatives of member units.
02 The blood donation point at Beijing Railway Station is awarded as "Demonstration Post of Learning Lei Feng Spirit Volunteer Service for Capital Youth Public Service Pioneer"
Since its establishment in 2003, the blood donation point at Beijing Station has received hundreds of blood donors on average every day and has always been the point with the largest blood collection volume in Beijing. At the same time, the blood donation point at Beijing Station is also an effective position for volunteer service groups in various system in the capital to carry out volunteer service activities inspired by Lei Feng. Various volunteer service groups in the capital have carried out free blood donation promotions here, and provided traffic guidance, transportation hub drop-off and other services to passers-by. The volunteers, together with the blood donation vehicles, have become a beautiful scenery of the Beijing Station transportation hub.
The blood donation point at the Beijing Station, regarded as a "Demonstration Post of Learning Lei Feng Spirit Volunteer Service for Capital Youth Public Service Pioneer", calls on young members of the Beijing government service employees to participate in voluntary blood donation services, advocates the concept of voluntary blood donation, and actively promotes positive energy, to advance the spiritual civilization construction in the capital.
At the event, the relevant leaders of the Municipal Voluntary Service Federation and the Beijing Red Cross Blood Center jointly unveiled the “demonstration post” plaque.
03 Activity on "Learning Lei Feng Spirit Action of Beijing Municipal Health System 2024" was launched
At the event, relevant leaders of the Municipal Health Commission announced the launch of the "Learning Lei Feng Spirit Action of Beijing Municipal Health System" activity in 2024, and required all units to deeply grasp the contemporary connotation of Lei Feng spirit, practice the purpose of serving the people, and continuously expand the breadth and depth of voluntary services, to allow Lei Feng spirit to take root in Beijing’s health system, gathering more strength and making greater contributions to the healthy Beijing construction.
