From October 27 to 28, 2023, the Supervision Training Course on Medical Social Work of Beijing 2023 was successfully held. More than 30 people, including the comrades responsible for the relevant work of the Public Rights and Interests Protection Division of the Municipal Health Commission, the chairman member of the Medical Social Work Special Committee of the Beijing Hospital Association, and supervisors of medical social workers from medical and health institutions and social service institutions at all levels in Beijing, attended the training.

The training lasted for two days and focused on topics such as supervision methods and techniques of medical social work, leadership of supervision of clinical medical social work, medical social work supervision practice and ethical and legal issues, supervision models and styles, and the establishment and development of supervision relationships.   Fu Lili, Director of the Social Work Department of the Shanghai Fudan University Pediatric Hospital, Wang Kexia, Chairman member of the Medical Social Work  Special Committee, Li Jianyue, Deputy Director-General/Senior Social Worker of the Chunnuan Social Work Service Center in Longgang District, Shenzhen, Lv Xinping, Director of the Social Work Department of the School of Labor Economics, Capital University of Economics and Business, and other several experts were invited to gave lectures. In order to strengthen the practical skills of medical social worker supervision, Wu Yangyang, Director of the Beijing Youth Social Work Development Center, and Liu Xuehua, Deputy Director of the Nursing Department of Peking University Sixth Hospital, were invited to the training, to guide the supervisors to experience group service workshops of group services and group workshops of mindfulness-based stress reduction.

At the training meeting, to improve the pertinence and effectiveness of supervision work, a special forum on supervision was organized. Based on the supervision practice of the medical social worker training project in the previous year, the attendees spoke freely and had an in-depth exchange of difficulties, problems, and reflections in supervision services. Relevant countermeasures and suggestions were proposed at the forum.

In the past two years, the Municipal Health Commission has actively promoted the construction of the medical social work supervision system in Beijing based on the actual development of medical social workers in Beijing and the cultivation of talent teams. Starting in 2022, the first batch of medical social worker supervisors will be selected. After theoretical training and supervision practice, the first batch of 14 medical social worker supervisors will be identified. The second batch of supervisor selection will continue this year, and 12 medical social worker supervisors will be identified initially.
