From October 23 to 27, 2023, a special training course on deepening medical reform and public health management, jointly organized by the Organization Department of the Municipal Party Committee, the Municipal Health Commission, and the Municipal Medical Insurance Bureau, was held at the Second Branch of the Municipal Party School. Zhong Dongbo, executive deputy director of the Municipal Medical Reform Office, party secretary and deputy director (concurrently) of the Municipal Health Commission, delivered the opening mobilization speech. He elaborated opinions in depth on adhering to putting the protection of people's health in the priority development strategic position, the systematic concept to grasp the overall layout of the health work, the two fundamental requirements of high-quality development and fairness and justice, and serving the strategic positioning of the capital city. Liu Juncai, director of the Municipal Health Commission, gave work tips on five aspects, namely safety, collaboration, sharing, reform, and innovation at the closing ceremony.

The special training courses lasted for five days. More than 160 people in total participated in the training, including the leaders of the member units of the Municipal Leading Group for Deepening Medical Reform, the Municipal Health Commission, the Beijing Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, the Beijing Hospitals Authority, the Municipal Aging Association and directors of various divisions, units directly under the Municipal Health Commission, principals from district health commissions and municipal hospitals, district hospitals, municipal state-owned hospitals and hospitals under the National Health Commission. Leaders, experts and scholars from the Party School of the National Health Commission, the National Administration of Disease Control and Prevention, the National Medical Security Administration, Tsinghua University, Renmin University and other units were invited to give special lectures. Professor Xiao Qinglun from the Harvard School of Public Health was specially invited to give an academic sharing on the theme of "Prospects of China's Medical Reform in the New Era".

The platform of the training courses is conducive to further strengthening communication among various departments, districts, and medical institutions, forming a joint force, and injecting strong impetus into promoting medical reform and high-quality development of the capital's health industry.
