On the morning of July 9, 2022, Ms. Zhang, accompanied by medical staff, left Xiaotangshan Mobile Cabin Hospital with flowers in her hand. She was the last infected patient who recovered and was discharged from the hospital.
So far, Xiaotangshan Mobile Cabin Hospital has achieved the "double zero" goal of "zero deaths of patients and zero infections of medical staff". After all the infected patients are discharged from the hospital, Xiaotangshan Mobile Cabin Hospital will make preparations for emergency and treatment at any time according to the epidemic situation.
Before she was discharged from the hospital, Ms. Zhang wrote a letter of thanks to the medical staff. She expressed her gratitude to the Party and the government, as well as to the medical staff.
In order to fully contain the COVID-19 epidemic proactively, Beijing started the emergency reconstruction project of Xiaotangshan Hospital ahead of schedule in November 2021 to convert it into a "health station" within one month for receiving close contacts and other people in quarantine.
In late April this year, Beijing decided to convert Xiaotangshan "health station" into a makeshift hospital for the centralized treatment of asymptomatic and mildly infected persons. It was officially put into operation on May 1, and the first case of positive infection of COVID-19 was admitted at 4:07 in the morning. As of July 9, it has operated for a total of 70 days. 3 quarantine units has been set up successively, receiving a total of 1,130 cases of COVID-19 infections. The oldest infected person is 61 years old and the youngest is 8 years old.
Xiaotangshan Mobile Cabin Hospital is under the sole administration of Beijing Youan Hospital affiliated to Capital Medical University. During the operation period, it resolutely implemented the spirit of the instructions of the Municipal Party Committee and the Municipal Government. Under the leadership of the Beijing Municipal Health Commission and the Beijing Municipal Administration of Hospitals, the Xiaotangshan Mobile Cabin Hospital adhered to the concept of people first and life first.
The hospital implemented the medical staff deployment plan of "hospitals for districts" and the “inch by inch” management concept. Twelve hospitals including Beijing Youan Hospital, Beijing Xiaotangshan Hospital, Beijing Children's Hospital, Children's Hospital Affiliated to Capital Institute of Pediatrics, and Peking University First Hospital have dispatched medical teams, with 324 medical members to go to the front line to fight the epidemic.
In the medical treatment work, the hospital gave full play to the advantages of the combination of traditional Chinese and Western medicine, and treated patients according to syndrome differentiation. In terms of hospital infection prevention and control, a dual supervision system for the infection control team of the headquarters and the infection control specialist of the isolation unit has been established. A 24-hour dual-post monitoring mode is formed to ensure zero infection of medical staff.
Since its opening, Xiaotangshan Mobile Cabin Hospital has actively provided humanistic care and warm-hearted services to patients with mild and asymptomatic COVID-19 infections. Psychological intervention for high-risk personnel in quarantine was carried out to relieve discomfort. Psychological counseling was implemented for medical staff to strengthen care. Single-room quarantine for college entrance examination students was set up. Mothers and children and husbands and wives were arranged to live in the same room. The infected children spent a different "June 1" Children's Day in the ward. Services for the elderly can be seen everywhere. The quarantine persons received sincere wishes and exquisite gifts on their birthdays. On the Dragon Boat Festival, every quarantine personnel received sweet rice dumplings.
As batches of infected people were discharged home, the hospital received dozens of simple and sincere letters of thanks, expressing deep gratitude to the medical staff.
