On April 26, the Party Committee of Beijing Municipal Health Commission held a study (expansion) meeting of theoretical study center group. Zhan Jifu, director of the Standing Committee of the People's Congress of Sanming City, Fujian Province was invited to give a special report on Sanming's medical reform.

Director Zhan Jifu systematically reviewed the history and experience so Sanming’s medical reform from aspects of “why medical reform is necessary and why it is difficult”, “why the Party Central Committee and the State Council affirmed Sanming’s medical reform experience and demanded vigorous promotion”, “how to build a health security system of socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era”.

In recent years, in accordance with the decision and deployment of the central government, under the strong leadership of the municipal party committee and government, Beijing has focused on the price reform of medical services, centralized procurement of pharmaceutical consumables, performance appraisal of medical institutions and supervision of the use of pharmaceutical consumables, remuneration system reform, medical alliance and health alliance, etc., promoted the reform of Beijing's medical and health system in accordance with local conditions, laying a solid foundation for the high-quality development of the capital's health care industry.

In the next step, the Beijing Municipal Health Commission will combine Beijing’s actual conditions, adhere to the standards of the capital, learn from Sanming’s experience, put the protection of people’s health in the strategic position of priority development, deepen the construction of a healthy Beijing, and promote the transformation from disease treatment-centered to health-centered services, promote the balanced distribution of medical and health resources, continue to deepen the reform of the medical and health system, and strive to build a fair, accessible, high-quality and efficient medical and health service system, to provide the people with a full range of full-cycle health protection.
