On December 1, the Beijing Municipal Mutual Recognition Alliance of Medical Ethics Review was announced at the Work Conference and Academic Seminar on Review Capacity Building of Beijing Medical Research Ethics held by the Beijing Municipal Health Commission. The Beijing Mutual Recognition Alliance Platform of Medical Ethics Review and the "Working Rules for Beijing Mutual Recognition Alliance of Medical Ethics Review (2020 Edition)" were launched at the conference.

It is reported that the first batch of 15 members of the Beijing Medical Ethics Review Alliance were mainly composed of national medical centers and national clinical medical research centers in Beijing. Xuanwu Hospital of Capital Medical University was elected as the first secretary unit. Another 30 medical and health institutions in Beijing have proposed their intention to join the mutual recognition alliance.

At the meeting, the relevant persons in charge of the Science and Education Department of the Beijing Municipal Health Commission also announced that, focusing on improving quality and efficiency, Beijing will launch an authorized pilot ethics review service to deepen the exploration of operating mechanism and management methods of the regional ethics committee.
