On October 18th, in order to improve the ability of the city's professionals of tuberculosis control system in dealing with the tuberculosis epidemic situation in schools, the Beijing Municipal Commission of Health and Family Planning and Beijing Research Institute of Tuberculosis Control jointly organized a training course on the epidemiological investigation and disposal of the tuberculosis epidemic situation in schools. More than 80 people from the organizations of tuberculosis control system participated in the training.

Director Liu Qinghua of the Municipal Commission of Health and Family Planning pointed out in the opening speech that the city attaches great importance to the prevention and control of tuberculosis in schools. Although the tuberculosis epidemic in schools has been stable in recent years, the students have a wide range of sources and regional differences, bringing risks to the city prevention and control work for tuberculosis. In order to improve the epidemiological investigation ability of the city's control system and better prevent and control the occurrence of tuberculosis epidemic in schools, the commission hired the training team of the Chinese on-site epidemiology training program to design and organize this training, hoping to comprehensively improve the on-site epidemiological investigation capabilities of tuberculosis control professionals in Beijing.

Zhang Lijie, the instructor of the Chinese on-site epidemiological training program, explained the ideas and steps of the on-site investigation and disposal of the tuberculosis epidemic in schools. Through the combination of professional theory and actual cases, the experts emphasized the thirteen steps of the on-site investigation of the epidemic situation, the precautions for the investigation as well as prevention and control measures, etc. Researchers Zhang Lijie, Ma Huilai and Zhang Hui from China Center for Disease Control and Prevention, and Professor Tu Dehua and other four experts from Beijing Research Institute of Tuberculosis Control analyzed and commented on the measures on the investigation and treatment of tuberculosis epidemic situation in schools in Xicheng, Haidian, Changping and Daxing Districts. Through theoretical and practical evaluation, the training further enhanced the understanding and practical application ability of the city's tuberculosis control personnel in the field of epidemiological investigation theory.
