The first batch Burkina Faso-aiding medical team had successfully finished the aid task lasting for half a year and returned Beijing on January 7, 2019. The summery meeting amongst the medical team was convened in Beijing Shijitan Hospital on January 10. The International Cooperation Department of the State Health Commission Deputy Director Feng Yong, Beijing Municipal Administration of Hospitals Deputy Inspector Xu Changshun attended the meeting and delivered speeches respectively.
The first batch Burkina Faso-aiding medical team Head Wang Yong made the work report. After the official renewal of the ambassadorial-level diplomatic relations between Burkina Faso and China on May 26, 2018, it merely takes about one month for the Beijing Municipal Health Commission to finish the creation, training, supplies preparation and dispatch of the first batch Burkina Faso-aiding medical team, vigorously supporting the overall diplomacy of the state. The medical team was consisted of ten members organized and dispatched by Beijing Shijitan Hospital and Beijing Jishuitan Hospital, six of whom were experts with senior titles. The team vigorously launched such innovations as Muti-disciplinary Treatment (MDT) and charity clinics with rounds of visits, involved in the construction and planning of the aided hospitals, and finished the concerned survey reports, formulated the Health Book for Common Diseases, which opened up new prospects and laid solid foundation for the future aiding medical teams.
International Cooperation Department of the State Health Commission Director Bao Hua read out the Letter of Thanks from the China Embassy in Burkina Faso. Beijing Shijitan Hospital President Xu Jianli and Beijing Municipal Administration of Hospitals Deputy Inspector Xu Changshun extended the gratitude for the medical team, hailing the medical team as they told the Chinese story with their selfless dedication and exquisite skills.
Deputy Director Feng Yong fully affirmed what had been achieved by the medical team. He pointed out that the first batch Burkina Faso-aiding medical team was the right team laying stress on the political awareness. The team was created within limited period, but the service quality offered by the team was fairly high. Their foreign aid service was not only accredited by the recipient country, but set a good example for the follow-up medical teams.
What follows, Beijing Municipal Health Commission would make summery on the related experience and modeling, so as to offer reference for the pilot program of building the Sino-African Friendship Hospitals.
