Beijing Launched Respiratory Disease Knowledge and Skill Training for Grass-Roots Doctors

On July 27, 2017, Beijing Municipal Commission of Health and Family Planning held the kick-off meeting of the respiratory disease knowledge and skill training for grass-roots doctors. The meeting was attended by directors from the Science and Education Office and Grass-Roots Office of Beijing Municipal Commission of Health and Family Planning, directors from health and family planning commissions of each region in Beijing, science and education students and principals from community health service management centers.
The training is for grass-roots general practitioners on the prevention and treatment of six common respiratory diseases, namely pneumonia, COPD, bronchial asthma, acute upper respiratory tract infection, acute bronchitis and pulmonary tuberculosis to help them grasp the basic theoretical knowledge and diagnosis and treatment technology for common and frequently-occurring respiratory diseases. It is aimed at significantly improving their ability in the prevention and treatment of respiratory diseases and facilitating the classified diagnosis and treatment and grass-roots initial diagnosis of respiratory diseases.
Director Song Mei stressed that the training is an important measure to carry out the national and municipal classified diagnosis and treatment system and all units should raise awareness, strengthen leadership and do a good job in organization, publicity, mobilization and implementation. With careful and thorough design and plan, we should combine trainings with the construction of classified diagnosis and treatment system, the overall reform of separation between medical and pharmaceutical services and the comprehensive service ability building of community health care institutions. Based on the service functions of community health care institutions, we should follow the principle of focusing on priorities, classified implementation, linking work at selected spots with that in entire areas and advancing on the whole to prepare for the full implementation of classified diagnosis and treatment system mentally and technically.
The National Respiratory Disease Knowledge and Skill Contest for Grass-Roots Doctors & Kick-Off Meeting of Beijing Division was held on the same day. Mao Yu, deputy director of Beijing Municipal Commission of Health and Family Planning attended the meeting and delivered a speech.
