2. Health Tips

At present, Beijing is experiencing persistently high temperatures and increased rainfall. This has led to a more active period for vector-borne, intestinal, respiratory, and foodborne diseases. We would like to remind all citizens of the following. 1. Pay attention to food and water safety.Do not drink untreated water. Avoid moldy, unhygienic, or expired food, as well as leftovers that have not been thoroughly reheated. Keep raw and cooked food separate. Seafood, meat, and similar products must be fully cooked before consumption. 2. Maintain a clean and healthy environment. After rainfall, carry out household cleaning and disinfection. Ensure good ventilation, clean up standing water regularly, and keep garbage bins, sinks, and other areas clean to reduce mosquito breeding. If your home has been flooded, clean and disinfect it thoroughly before moving back in. 3. Practice good personal hygiene and protection.Wear masks properly and observe cough etiquette. Wash hands frequently, and avoid touching your eyes, mouth, or nose with unclean hands. Wear swimming goggles when swimming or playing in water. After contact with floodwater or rain, rinse skin thoroughly with clean water. 4. Pay attention to health during summer travel.Check the epidemic situation at your destination in advance. Take precautions against mosquito bites during your trip and after returning. If you develop fever, rash, joint pain, or other symptoms, seek medical attention promptly and avoid attending school or work while ill. 5. Develop healthy lifestyle habits.Maintain a balanced diet, regular schedule, and moderate exercise. Be proactive in receiving vaccinations on time and in full to prevent vaccine-preventable diseases. Children of appropriate age should complete any missed vaccinations before the new school term begins in autumn.
