1. Epidemic overview

In April 2024 (from 0:00 on April 1 to 24:00 on April 30), a total of 26,861 cases of 19 notifiable infectious diseases and 5 deaths were reported in Beijing. The reported diseases are mainly Viral Hepatitis, Dysentery, Tuberculosis, Pertussis, Syphilis, COVID-19, Influenza, Other Infectious Diarrhea, etc.

2. Health tips

The temperature rises after the beginning of summer, and there is a risk of spreading infectious diseases. It is recommended for citizens and relevant collective units to take the following health protection measures. First, it is necessary to do self-health monitoring after returning to Beijing from holiday travel. If you have symptoms such as fever, cough, diarrhea, etc., you could take measures such as resting at home, taking medicine, or seeking medical treatment in a timely manner according to your condition. You should take personal protection measures during the illness and avoid participating in group activities or going to crowded places. Second, the room should be ventilated regularly, the floors and desktops at home should be cleaned and disinfected regularly, and water accumulated indoors and outdoors should be removed in a timely manner. Third, microorganisms are easy to grow and reproduce and food is easy to spoil in summer as the temperature and humidity increase gradually. It is necessary to pay attention to food hygiene, avoid eating spoiled food or drinking raw water, and clean and disinfect tableware. It is recommended to pay attention to personal hygiene and avoid touching your eyes, mouth, and nose with unclean hands. Fourth, institutions such as elderly care, childcare, schools, social welfare and related collective units should do a good job in daily health protection and health monitoring of personnel. Childcare institutions and schools should implement morning and afternoon inspections, health education, environmental cleaning and disinfection, and pay attention to the hygienic management of canteens. Fifth, it is necessary to prevent bites from mosquitoes, ticks, etc., avoid staying in dark and humid places outdoors such as grass and shade for a long time, and avoid contact with strange pets and wild animals.
