I. Epidemic overview

During the 31stweek of 2023, there were a total of 5,434 cases of 16 kinds of legal infectious diseases reported, and 3 cases died in Beijing. The top five diseases with a large number of cases are COVID-19, Hand, Food and Mouth Diseases, Other Infectious Diarrhea, Viral Hepatitis, and Syphilis, accounting for 92.8% of the total number of cases of legal infectious diseases.

II. Health tips for key epidemic situation

The number of reported cases of legal infectious diseases in Beijing this week has increased compared with last week. Respiratory tract infectious diseases and intestinal infectious diseases are the main reported diseases, the cases of which accounted for 64.6% and 29.1% of the reported number respectively.

External environmental factors in summer are conducive to the reproduction and spread of pathogenic microorganisms of intestinal infectious diseases. Citizens should pay attention to personal and home hygiene. First, it is necessary to pay attention to whether the color or smell of drinking water have changed, and whether there are foreign objects such as sediment. The second is to avoid drinking unboiled water. It is advised to drink boiled water. Do not wash vegetables or gargle with unknown or contaminated water. Third, if symptoms such as fever, diarrhea, redness and swelling of the conjunctiva, rash, or vomiting occur, it is recommanded to seek medical treatment in time.
