The number of reported cases of legal infectious diseases in Beijing this week decreased by 13.9% compared with last week. The respiratory infectious diseases were the main reported diseases, the cases of which accounted for more than 99% of the reported number.
At present, Beijing is still at the peak period of influenza spreading. First, citizens should pay attention to maintaining good hygiene habits such as hand hygiene and cough etiquette. Second, during the influenza season, it is necessary to try to avoid going to crowded places, avoid contact with people with respiratory symptoms, and do personal protection when contact. Third, when respiratory symptoms occur, patients should rest at home, and conduct health observation. It is not recommended to go to work or class with illness. It is necessary to avoid close contact with family members as much as possible and wear a mask if contacted. When sneezing or coughing, patients should cover the mouth and nose with a handkerchief or tissue to avoid droplets contaminating others and reducing the spread of disease. Fourth, when going to the hospital, patients and people accompanying should wear masks to avoid cross-infection. Fifth, the residence should be regularly cleaned and ventilated, and key parts such as door handles and handrails should be cleaned and disinfected regularly.
