I. Epidemic overview

During the 1st week of 2023, there were a total of 4720 cases of 12 kinds of legal infectious diseases reported, and 1 case died in Beijing. The top five diseases with a large number of cases are COVID-19, Influenza, Tuberculosis, Other Infectious Diarrhea, Viral Hepatitis, accounting for 98.1% of the total number of cases of legal infectious diseases.

II. Health tips for key epidemic situation

The number of reported cases of legal infectious diseases in Beijing this week has decreased compared with last week, and respiratory infectious diseases are the main reported diseases, the cases of which accounted for 93.4% of the reported number.

At present, it is the high season of respiratory infectious diseases, and the Spring Festival holiday is also approaching. Everybody should be the first responsible person for their own health. It is necessary to pay attention to personal protection, adhere to good hygiene habits such as wearing masks, washing hands frequently, and do a good job in self-health monitoring. People over 3 years old at the appropriate age are encouraged to get vaccinated against the COVID-19. Citizens, especially the elderly, should be vaccinated absolutely, and take the booster vaccination if eligible.
