Recently, the Qingyundian emergency team from Beijing 120 Daxing Branch received an urgent call: an elderly patient had suddenly collapsed, lost consciousness, and was barely breathing. The patient’s pupils were unequal in size, and his life was in imminent danger. Immediate rescue was in need. The team rushed to the scene and found the patient’s blood pressure had plummeted and his heart rate was steadily slowing, with cardiac arrest likely at any moment.

Emergency personnel quickly assessed the situation, suspecting either a cerebrovascular event or cardiogenic shock, and immediately activated the emergency protocol. As the patient’s heart rate continued to drop, the physician decisively instructed the nurse to administer intravenous epinephrine to stabilize vital signs.

At the same time, the patient was rapidly transported to the hospital. En route, the team contacted the hospital to activate the green channel, closely monitoring the patient’s condition throughout the transfer. The patient was swiftly delivered to the hospital, gaining valuable time for further treatment. Follow-up information confirmed that the patient was now out of critical condition and remained under observation in the ICU.

In sudden emergencies, every second holds the hope of survival. If you encounter a similar situation, stay calm and call 120 immediately for help.

120 reminds you that if someone suddenly faints, here is what you should do.

1. Call for help immediately: Dial 120 and follow the guidance of professionals.

2. Keep the airway open: Loosen clothing, turn the patient’s head to one side to prevent choking.

3. Record the time: The duration of unconsciousness and any accompanying symptoms (such as convulsions or vomiting) are critical for diagnosis!
