Recently, the emergency team led by Dr. Song Ci from the West Emergency Station of Beijing Emergency Medical Center was dispatched to a university sports field where a person had collapsed during exercise and required emergency rescue. The team promptly departed and maintained swift yet safe travel to the site. Dr. Song contacted on-site personnel and learned the patient fainted and experienced a loss of consciousness during physical activity.

Upon arrival, Dr. Song and nurse Li Yikang rushed to the patient with emergency equipment for examination. The patient had regained consciousness but was confused about the incident. Dr. Song calmly reassured him and inquired about any pre-existing conditions, which the patient denied. Examination showed a blood pressure of 160/100 mmHg, blood glucose of 5.8 mmol/L, and normal sinus rhythm on the ECG. While no immediate abnormalities were detected, Dr. Song did not rule out potential neurological causes for the sudden fainting.

The patient, who had just regained consciousness, was still in a confused state. He stated that he was not experiencing any discomfort at the moment and believed that resting for a while would be enough. At first, he refused to go to the hospital for further examination. Dr. Song patiently reassured the patient, explained his current condition and the potential health risks involved, and once again recommended a hospital evaluation. The patient eventually understood the situation and agreed to proceed to the hospital.

After coordinating with the patient’s family and confirming the receiving hospital, the team safely and rapidly transported the patient to the hospital for further treatment. Understanding the patient was alone, the team assisted him with registration and accompanied him through examinations until the family arrived, who were deeply moved and expressed sincere appreciation.
