Recently, Dr. Ren Zhengkai, nurse Chen Aijing, and driver Fang Hao from the Dongcheng Emergency Medical Station received a dispatch call: a passenger had fainted at a subway station. The emergency team rushed to the scene, with the doctor contacting on-site personnel by phone during the journey to gather information about the patient's condition. The patient, a young woman, had suddenly lost consciousness while taking the subway. To reach her as quickly as possible, the doctor coordinated with subway staff to guide the team through the nearest subway entrance.

Upon arrival, the team found the patient conscious, sitting on the platform. After a brief medical history inquiry, it was revealed that the patient had experienced emotional distress, followed by numbness throughout her body and difficulty breathing. Nurse Chen Aijing quickly assessed her vital signs. Considering the possibility of respiratory alkalosis caused by hyperventilation due to emotional agitation, Dr. Ren promptly had the patient wear an N95 mask to help relieve her symptoms. The team then carefully transferred her onto a stretcher and into the ambulance. Driver Fang Hao, while ensuring safety, accelerated the journey to the nearest hospital for treatment.

During transport, the team continuously comforted the patient. Nurse Chen massaged her limbs to improve circulation and ease her discomfort. Upon arrival at the hospital, they discovered the patient was unaccompanied, as her family had not yet arrived. The emergency team immediately assisted her with registration and payment. Thanks to their warm and attentive support, the patient gradually calmed down and was able to receive treatment smoothly.

Once recovered, the patient returned to the Dongcheng Emergency Medical Station with a banner and a deeply heartfelt letter of thanks, expressing her sincere gratitude to Dr. Ren and his team for being by her side during a critical moment.

Life isn't always filled with sunshine, but when a dedicated pre-hospital emergency team delivers not only professional and efficient care but also reassures patients with the words, “Don’t worry. We’re here for you,” they can truly dispel fear and bring hope for recovery.
