Recently, the emergency rescue team from Xicheng Emergency Center (Dr. Li Jing, Nurse Wang Yi, and Driver Liu Mingxian) received an urgent dispatch order. A 67-year-old woman had suddenly developed discomfort in the precordial region and required immediate medical attention. The team set off promptly, and Dr. Li Jing immediately established phone contact with the scene. A distressed voice came through, "Please help me... I’m alone... My heart rate is 200 beats per minute... Hurry!" Upon hearing this, Driver Liu Mingxian accelerated while ensuring safety, and Dr. Li Jing reassured the patient, providing guidance through the phone, instructing the patient to remain in a quiet position and not to take nitroglycerin. Meanwhile, Nurse Wang Yi quickly organized medical equipment and prepared for emergency intervention.

Upon arrival at the patient’s residential building, the team encountered a locked unit door, as the patient was unable to open it. They promptly sought assistance from neighbors and swiftly carried the medical equipment upstairs to reach the patient. Dr. Li Jing conducted a rapid assessment and made a preliminary diagnosis of arrhythmia—supraventricular tachycardia. After inquiring about the patient’s medical history, it was revealed that the patient had experienced excessive fatigue due to a recent family crisis and that this was the first acute episode. The emergency crew explained the condition and treatment plan to the patient, administered cardiac monitoring, oxygen therapy, and medication, and contacted the family. Subsequently, the cardiac monitor indicated a gradual decrease in heart rate, returning to normal sinus rhythm. A follow-up electrocardiogram showed largely normal readings, and the patient reported significant relief from discomfort. Finally calming down, the patient expressed gratitude to the emergency team.

During the transfer to the hospital, the emergency team closely monitored the patient’s vital signs and condition to ensure safety. Upon reaching the hospital safely and rapidly, they handed the patient over to the emergency department staff before promptly returning to continue their emergency response duties.

Later, the patient personally delivered a banner inscribed with the words "Dedicated to Saving Lives, Exemplary Medical Ethics and Skills" to the Xicheng Emergency Center, handing it over to the emergency personnel to express her profound gratitude and respect for the 120 emergency team. The team responded, "This is our duty. When you entrust us with your life, we will do everything to protect it!"
