Recently, the Shijingshan Sub-center received a dispatch command. A woman at a restaurant sustained a hand crush injury and urgently needed medical attention. Upon receiving the task, the medical team immediately rushed to the scene.

Upon arrival, the team found the patient's left forearm crushed under a machine, with blood pooling beneath it as firefighters worked to dismantle the machine. The patient, a hearing-impaired woman, showed signs of severe pain but was unable to make any sound, making the situation especially heart-wrenching for everyone present.

After relentless efforts, the firefighters successfully dismantled the machine and freed the injured limb. The victim's left forearm, wrist, and palm appeared purplish, with half a blood-soaked glove still on her hand. Dr. Yin Ligang and nurse Su Na from the medical team quickly dressed the wound before placing the victim in the ambulance and racing against time to transport her to the nearest hospital for treatment.

Here are some health tips from Beijing 120. When an upper limb is crushed by a machine, various injuries can occur, such as skin damage, joint injuries leading to loss of hand function, nerve and tendon injuries, and vascular damage. Without vascular reconstruction, there is a risk of amputation. Regardless of the severity of a hand crush injury, it is crucial to seek medical attention promptly to prevent worsening of the condition and safeguard overall health.
