Recently, the Du Xintian team from the West Emergency Center received an urgent call about a patient who had fainted and required immediate rescue. While en route to the scene, Dr. Du Xintian contacted the family to gather details about the situation. Upon learning that the patient was unconscious and not breathing, Dr. Du promptly instructed the family to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and advised the crew to prepare for emergency treatment.
Upon arrival, the crew found the patient's family performing chest compressions as instructed. Dr. Du Xintian promptly assessed the patient's condition and led the team in taking over the emergency care. Following the doctor's guidance, the crew used a compression pump to deliver high-quality chest compressions. Nurse Zhang Jie connected the patient to a monitor and established intravenous access, while Dr. Du prepared for intubation. As soon as the monitor was successfully connected, the patient's electrocardiogram revealed ventricular fibrillation. Dr. Du immediately initiated preparations for defibrillation. After defibrillation, the team resumed high-quality continuous chest compressions with the compression pump. Dr. Du then quickly completed tracheal intubation, connected the ventilator for assisted ventilation, and closely monitored the patient’s condition for further changes.
Thanks to the team's seamless cooperation and swift rescue efforts, the patient's autonomous heart rhythm gradually recovered. Dr. Du Xintian closely monitored the patient's condition while advising the family on the necessary medical procedures. After confirming that all medical equipment was securely in place, the crew carefully lifted the patient onto the ambulance and transported him to the nearest hospital equipped to provide further treatment.
During the transport, driver Zhang Chunhui swiftly coordinated and established a green channel to ensure a smooth transfer. Meanwhile, Dr. Du and Nurse Zhang closely monitored the patient’s condition. The team successfully delivered the patient to the hospital. After completing the handover with the hospital staff, the patient’s family gratefully held Dr. Du's hand and bowed repeatedly to express their heartfelt thanks. A follow-up visit by Dr. Du later revealed that the patient had temporarily stabilized and was admitted to the cardiology department for specialized treatment and rehabilitation.
