Recently, the Weigezhuang Road First Aid Station in Fengtai District received an emergency dispatch order from the Beijing 120 Dispatch and Command Center. A traffic accident occurred at an intersection, and two injured people were in urgent need of treatment. The emergency personnel responded quickly after receiving the task. The doctor called the on-site people and guided them to stop the bleeding. The ambulance rushed to the scene quickly. Upon their arrival, the crew immediately performed physical examination, hemostasis, bandaging and other treatment measures for the two patients. They sent the patients to a nearby hospital for further treatment.

It was learned that the traffic accident was caused by a middle school student who came to Beijing to visit relatives while riding an electric bicycle in the wrong direction. Recently, emergency ambulance crews have treated such injuries in many car accidents caused by electric vehicles driven in the wrong direction or running red lights, or the riders focusing on mobile phones while driving, etc. Moreover, most of the riders in these accidents did not wear helmets.

Here are some tips from the 120 center. In case of trauma, on-site first aid must be provided promptly while ensuring environmental safety to avoid secondary injuries. When riding bicycles or electric bicycles, it is necessary to stay in non-motorized lanes. Do not drive against the traffic. Do not hold other riders’ shoulders and ride side by side. Do not ride with your hands off the handlebars. The riders should wear a helmet when riding and reach out the hands for warning when turning.

It is recommended to pay more attention, be more vigilant, and have more self-discipline to ensure your safety while going out and returning home.
