After more than a month of high temperature, the dog days finally came with a heat wave. In the unusual high temperature this year, reasonable measures for heatstroke prevention have become the top priority of "keeping health during dog days".

1. Stay calm and patient

In summer, the temperature changes from warm to hot, which often makes people irritable and sleepless at night. The "Inner Canon of Huangdi" puts forward the health requirement that it is suggested to bear the long hot days, be impatient and stop being angry. It is necessary to be calm, optimistic and happy, and let the nature take its course. This is especially true for people with hypertension and coronary heart disease. During these days, it is advisable to adjust your emotions and make yourself feel calm and happy through various ways, such as reading, painting, listening to music, playing chess, fishing, etc.

2. Cool down properly not overly

Appropriate use of cooling appliances such as air conditioners and fans is effective to prevent heatstroke and is beneficial to summer health care. The temperature of the air conditioner used indoors should be controlled between 26°C to 28°C (about 5°C lower than the outdoor temperature). The windows should be opened regularly for ventilation. When using a desktop fan, it is not advisable to blow the wind directly on the body or the head and face to avoid facial paralysis.

3. Eat cool and refreshing food, not iced food

In summer, the air temperature and humidity is high and digestive system diseases are easy to occur. The daily diet should be light and refreshing, and it is recommended to take appropriate amount of dehumidifying products, such as wax gourd, kelp, tomato, day lily, black fungus, lily, lotus root, mung bean, lentil, coix seed, white radish, etc. It is necessary to avoid eating too much iced food such as ice cream, cold beer, and iced watermelon.
