   The Doctor on Duty column of the Capital e-Health site will invite Yao, Kuiwu, a chief physician at the Cardiovascular Department of Guang’anmen Hospital, China Academy of Medical Sciences, to serve as a gust at the studio to answer Internet-users’ questions concerning hyperlipidemia online at 3 p.m., November 26.

  Yao Kuiwu is a chief physician and a doctor of treatment of cardiovascular disease clinic by integrative medicine. He is a member and the secretary of the Youth Work Committee of Chinese Association of Integrative Medicine, member of the Professional Committee of Microcirculation, Chinese Association of Integrative Medicine, member of the Young and Middle-aged Expert Committee of Technological Innovation , China Association of Chinese Medicine, Director of the Specialty Committee of Geriatric Medicine, World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies, member of the 2nd Professional Committee of Cardiovascular Diseases of Beijing Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine and an editorial board member of World Journal of Integrated Traditional and Western Medicine. He is engaged in prevention and treatment of diseases of cardiovascular system by integrative medicine as well as geriatric disease clinic and research. After being admitted in 2007 into the postdoctoral center for heritage of academic thoughts of distinguished and veteran doctors of traditional Chinese medicine of China Academy of Medical Sciences, he was instructed by China’s famous TCM clinic expert Professor Xue Boshou. He excels in the treatment of diseases of cardiovascular system such as disease of cardiovascular system, hypertension and hyperlipidemia, as well as exopathic diseases. In recent years, he has participated in or led 13 national or ministerial (provincial) research projects, published more than 30 papers and involved in the preparation of five books.

  Hyperlipidemia, also known as “Silent Killer”, is the culprit of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, companion of fatty liver disease, and an inducing factor of cholelithiasis. Someone also thinks it is a modern illness of affluence. Then how can it be prevented? Why may even a thin man be suffered from it?
