Training Session on Preterm Infant Health Care and Management was Held in Beijing

In order to implement the national "Specification on Preterm Infant Health Care", improve the timeliness and effectiveness of the treatment of premature infants, and standardize the health care services for preterm infants, a training session on preterm infant health care and management was held in Beijing on June 6th, 2018. More than 200 people attended the training, including persons in charge of infant diseases prevention and health care department of health and family planning commissions, the management staff of the maternal and child care service centers and the staff responsible of high-risk and low-risk preterm infant health service organizations in 16 districts.

At the meeting, staff of the Elderly, Maternal and Child Health Services Department of the Beijing Municipal Commission of Health and Family Planning interpreted the health care and management specification of preterm infants in Beijing, focusing on the work responsibilities of each institution and the management content of preterm infant health services. Prof. Wang Danhua of Peking Union Medical College Hospital gave an in-depth explanation on post-discharge care and management of preterm infants. Director Feng Qi of the First Hospital of Peking University, combining with the latest neonatal diagnosis and treatment guidelines in the world, provided an in-depth lecture on the diagnosis and treatment of preterm birth and its common complications. The training experts, utilizing clinical practice experience and typical cases, taught the key aspects of care for preterm infants and post-discharge care, and played a positive role in improving the ability of medical and health care institutions in Beijing and providing sound guarantee for implementing the national specification for preterm infants.
