From:Beijing Municipal Commission of Health and Family Planning

In order to implement the “13th Five-Year Plan” of action for deterring and preventing AIDS and further improve our city’s work on AIDS prevention and control, on the afternoon of April 3rd, the 2018 AIDS Prevention and Control Work Conference was held in Beijing. More than 100 attendees including directors of health and family planning commissions of all districts, chiefs of the disease control department, directors of the disease control centers of all districts, and the responsible staff and technical backbones of STD and AIDS departments, staff from the Beijing Association for STD and AIDS, Concord Hospital, Ditan Hospital, You'an Hospital and persons in charge of antiretroviral treatment work in 302 Hospital attended the conference.

At the meeting, the Municipal Center for Disease Prevention and Control comprehensively analyzed the situation of AIDS in the city, summarized the progress of AIDS prevention and control, and put forward the next task for the current problems in the prevention and control of AIDS in the city. Academician Wang Fusheng of the People's Liberation Army 302 Hospital made a special report on the optimization of the clinical comprehensive diagnosis and treatment plan for AIDS, improving curative effect and reducing transmission. He also shared with the participants some research results on the treatment of severe AIDS cases in 302 Hospital. The CDC of Haidian District and You'an Hospital introduced their respective approaches from the perspectives of AIDS prevention and control for college students and AIDS treatment management.

Finally, the leaders of the Municipal Commission of Health and Family Planning put forward three opinions on the AIDS work in the city. First, we should fully realize the complexity and arduousness of AIDS prevention work. The second is to take the responsibility and develop innovative ideas to promote a new path of AIDS prevention. In the face of more cryptic AIDS carriers and patients, it is recommended to use modern Internet, Internet of Things and other comprehensive means, jointly find a force point of all sides to improve the patient's discovery rate. For patients who have been found, we must effectively optimize the patient service process and provide patients with psychological support, anti-viral treatment and other services. The third is to implement comprehensive AIDS prevention from the perspective of building a healthy China and healthy Beijing. We must give full play to the role of various departments and social organizations and make good use of the public health committees of communities and village committees to carry out publicity education for residents and interventions for high-risk groups.
