On March 29, 2018, Lei Haichao, deputy secretary of the Party Committee and director of the Beijing Municipal Commission of Health and Family Planning, went to the Miyun District to investigate the construction of the village clinics and work of blood collection and blood supply. Wang Wendong, chairman of the CPPCC in Miyun District, participated in the survey and discussion.

The research team firstly inspected the operation of the clinics in Chaoyang Village, Gizhuang Township, Xitiangezhuang District, Miyun District to research the services and learning of rural doctors and family planning professionals. At the same time, they visited Maying Village to learn about the health care services provided for farmers. Afterwards, he inspected the construction of blood collection sites and central blood stations in the Grand Theater of Miyun District and learned about problems in the blood supply and demand conditions and blood collection and supply services, and provided opinions and suggestions on the next step.

The research team listened to reports on the key work of health and family planning in Miyun District, and exchanged views on the construction of village clinics, the recruitment of township medical teams, the signature services of family doctors, and blood collection and supply work. Lei Haichao pointed out that the health and family planning work in Miyun District was solid and the key tasks had been completed well. It has assumed functions of regional coordination and service. On the next step, Lei Haichao stressed three points. First, it is necessary to ensure solid service capabilities at the primary level, make up disadvantages and correct mistakes and implement the construction of services and facilities of village clinic. The institutions should enrich their team through multiple channels such as oriented training, social recruitment, and rounds of diagnosis to improve service conditions and meet the health needs of the people. The second is to promote the construction of village (neighborhood) public health committees and improve the administrative ability of public health services at grassroot levels. The third is to do a good job in blood collection and donation, optimize the layout of blood collection points, strengthen the organizational launch of unpaid blood donation organizations, and work together with Huairou District to provide safe and stable blood supply services.
