From:Beijing Municipal Health Commission
Date:04/15/2019

I. Epidemic situation
During the 13th week of 2019 (from March 25, 2019 to March 31, 2019), there were a total of 10,252 cases of 15 kinds of legal infectious diseases reported, and no case died in the city. The five diseases with a large number of cases are Influenza, Other Infectious Diarrhea, Tuberculosis, Syphilis and Viral Hepatitis, accounting for 97.38% of the reported cases of legal infectious diseases.

II. Key epidemic situation
According to the results of infectious disease surveillance in the past years, the overall incidence of Scarlet Fever, Mumps and Varicella in our city will increase after April, and children under 15 years old are more common group of onset. The risk of cluster epidemics in kindergartens and schools will increase. It is suggested that all districts and units should strengthen the monitoring, reporting, implement the comprehensive epidemic prevention and control measures timely and remind the age-appropriate children to have the relevant vaccines according to the procedures.
Last week, collective institutions such as schools and child care institutions in our city reported a number of concentrated fever epidemics caused by influenza viruses. Parents are advised to remind or assist children to keep good personal and environmental hygiene habits, such as ventilation of home, washing hands frequently, a balanced diet, moderate exercise and adequate rest. Schools and child care institutions should continue to do daily disinfection and health education, implement the inspection system in the morning and noon strictly, discover fever cases timely, and ensure early detection, reporting, and treatment of concentrated fever epidemics.
After entering April, the incidence of intestinal infectious diseases is gradually rising. From April 1 to October 31, there are more than 200 hospitals in the city setting up intestinal outpatients and receive patients with diarrhea in order to prevent and cure intestinal infectious diseases effectively. Citizens with diarrhea symptoms should go to the intestinal clinic of a nearby hospital in time to avoid delaying or spreading the disease.
