Weekly Epidemic Report (from March 18, 2019 to March 24, 2019)

I. Epidemic situation 
During the 12th week of 2019 (from March 18, 2019 to March 24, 2019), there were a total of 8,814 cases of 15 kinds of legal infectious diseases reported, and 2 cases died in the city. The five diseases with a large number of cases are Influenza, Other Infectious Diarrhea, Tuberculosis, Viral Hepatitis and Syphilis, accounting for 97.02% of the reported cases of legal infectious diseases. 

II. Key epidemic situation 
The period from March to May each year is a high season for infectious diseases such as tuberculosis, scarlet fever, measles, mumps and chickenpox. According to the monitoring data this week, the situation of respiratory infections in our city were relatively stable, and the annual cumulative reported data was slightly higher than the same period last year. In view of the prevention and control of such infectious diseases, it is recommended that densely populated institutions, especially schools and child care institutions, should implement the daily prevention and control of infectious diseases conscientiously for early detection, early reporting, early disposal of epidemic situation and avoiding dissemination of epidemic situation, affecting the health of teachers and students. 
Measles is a Class B infectious diseases stipulated in the Law on the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases. It is highly contagious and vaccination is the most effective measure to prevent it. Recently, free vaccination for migrant workers covering the measles and rubella combination vaccine and Meningococcus in 2019 was officially launched. This time, the centralized vaccination of this population is scheduled to be completed on May 17, 2019. It is recommended that the employers organize qualified employees to have vaccinations actively to maintain good health.
March 24th, 2019 was the 24th World Tuberculosis Day. Eight academicians jointly launched an initiative on behalf of the medical and health industry. They advocated that the whole society should take action to jointly end the tuberculosis operation and build a healthy China.
1. All sectors of society shall pay attention to and support the prevention and control of tuberculosis, and establish the awareness that everyone is the first person responsible for their own health.
2. Medical staff shall improve the diagnosis and treatment technology and improve the success rate of treatment.
3. Patients shall adhere to the full course of treatment to reduce the spread of disease and drug resistance.
4. Health poverty alleviation and care and relief of poverty-stricken patients shall be strengthened to reduce poverty due to illness or returning to poverty due to illness.
5. Scientific research personnel shall strengthen scientific and technological innovation and research, and independently develop new diagnostic technologies, new vaccines and new drugs.
