On February 22, the Beijing Finals of Knowledge and Action Contest on Healthy China Action, a special event for families, jointly organized by the Beijing Municipal Health Commission, Beijing Patriotic Health Campaign Committee Office, Beijing Municipal Committee of the Communist Youth League, Beijing Women's Federation, Beijing Red Cross Society, Beijing Family Planning Association and other units, came to a successful conclusion.

As an important part of the special event for families of the Knowledge and Action Contest on Healthy China Action, the Beijing competition area kicked off in December 2023. All districts in Beijing adopted flexible and diverse publicity forms to popularize health science knowledge in the society widely and advocate civilized and healthy lifestyles actively. The most representative family teams were selected and recommended to gather at the municipal finals.

At the finals, 16 family teams from various districts participated in health knowledge competitions, health talent shows and other parts, fully reflecting the important role of family in establishing health concepts, spreading health knowledge, and practicing healthy behaviors. More than 100 people from the Municipal Health Commission, the Beijing Patriotic Health Campaign Committee Office, the Municipal Committee of the Communist Youth League, the Municipal Women's Federation, the Municipal Red Cross Society, the Municipal Family Planning Association, the district health commissions, and the municipal and district CDCs participated in the event.

Since 2020, Beijing has launched nine major family health promotion actions, including family health science popularization service activities, the creation of smoke-free families, the promotion of civilized, healthy, green and environmentally friendly lifestyles, and the construction of family health service positions, to extensively carry out the construction of healthy families. 50,000 healthy families and 2 family health guidance centers have been created. The construction of healthy families won the "Local Typical Case of Healthy China Innovation Practice 2022". The main health indicators of residents in Beijing have reached the level of international high-income countries, and the health literacy level has reached 40.5%, ranking first at the provincial level in China.

In the next stage, Beijing will continue to promote multi-department cooperation in health promotion, optimize life-cycle health services, and actively publicize family health concepts and methods, to create a good health cultural atmosphere, and lay a solid health foundation for the capital to promote the Chinese path to modernization.
