On the morning of January 8, 2024, the Municipal Health Commission held a briefing and symposium on retired cadres work. Party Secretary Zhong Dongbo reported on the progress of key tasks in 2023 and the work plan for 2024, and listened to the opinions and suggestions of representatives of retired comrades. Wang Xiaoe, first-level inspector of the Municipal Health Commission, presided over the meeting. Shi Bingzhong, Li Yunli, Wang Xiaoguang, Zhang Jianshu, Liu Na, Ma Yan, former party secretary of the Municipal Center for Disease Control and Prevention, Qu Xiaoxia, an senior expert from Beijing Shijitan Hospital and other representatives of retired cadres from the system, attended the meeting together with the staff of the Retired Cadres Office and the Comprehensive Affairs Center of the Beijing Municipal Health Commission.

At the meeting, Zhong Dongbo, on behalf of the Party Committee of the commission, extended cordial greetings and respect to the retired cadres. He pointed out that under the strong leadership of the Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government, the Municipal Health Commission has steadily promoted the optimization of management structure, steadily responded to the peak of respiratory infectious diseases, made every effort to provide medical and health support for flood prevention and disaster relief, further promoted the construction of a healthy Beijing, and continued to optimize full life cycle services, actively promoted the allocation of medical and health resources, continuously improved the medical and health service system, continued to improve the work of handling complaints immediately, improved and upgrade the construction of information systems, carried out in-depth centralized rectification of corruption issues, and continued to deepen the reform of the medical and health system. The development of health undertakings has entered the "fast lane", and we have made significant progress in all aspects of work. Zhong Dongbo said that in 2024, the party committee will adhere to the principle of putting people first and health first, highlight fair public welfare, as well as joint construction and sharing. We will adhere to the system concept and model standards, strengthen reform and innovation, overcome difficulties, enhance the initiative activity, predictability, creativity and effectiveness of work, vigorously improve the "four services" capabilities, and lay a solid and healthy foundation for the capital to take the lead in fully realizing modernization.

The retired comrades made passionate speeches in turn, focusing on major and minor issues in the health industry.
