In order to further improve the medical and health service capacity of rural areas of Beijing and guide high-quality medical resources to rural areas, on the afternoon of October 26, Wang Jianhui, deputy director of the Municipal Health Commission, presided over the "deployment meeting for the round work of tertiary medical institutions to rural areas". Presidents of 10 municipal and central tertiary hospitals in Beijing, including Union Medical College Hospital, Peking University Hospital, Tiantan Hospital, and Friendship Hospital, and the directors of the primary health department and medical administration and management office of the Municipal Health Commission, and medical care office of the Municipal Hospitals Authority, and Beijing Community Health Service Association and other relevant departments attended the meeting.

The attendees studied the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Party, conducted in-depth research and deployment around the party's medical and health work guidelines in the new era of "expanding high-quality medical resources, balancing regional distribution, and focusing on rural areas and communities". It aims to promote the deep integration and coordination of the development of urban large hospitals and remote suburban primary medical and health services, accelerate the improvement of the capacity of basic medical and health services in the far suburbs, narrow the gaps, and enhance the sense of access to medical treatment by rural people, give full play to the management and technical advantages of urban large hospitals, and adopt "large hospital serving each area", in various forms such as regular rounds, teaching lectures, case discussions, and teaching rounds. By cooperation of regional medical centers, it is hoped to jointly improve the capacity of grassroots medical institutions to better serve the people in rural areas.

At the meeting, Wang Liyu, Secretary-General of Beijing Community Health Service Association, introduced the work plan for the round of tertiary hospitals. Wang Ping, vice president of Peking University First Hospital, introduced the work experience of the hospital in deep cooperation with Miyun District Hospital, which in turn drove the development of community health services and capacity improvement in the area.

Finally, Deputy Director Wang Jianhui spoke highly of the sense of responsibility of the large hospitals employees participating. He made an in-depth explanations and put forward specific requirements on accurately grasping the decisions and deployment of the Party Central Committee, the municipal party committee and municipal government, actively promoting the deep integration and coordination of development of urban and rural medical and health services, and implementing the work of "why, what, how, and how to make it better" for large hospitals serving each area.
