On August 22, 2020, the Beijing Completion Assessment of Standardized Training on Practice Skills for Assistant General Practitioner was held at Miyun District Hospital, and 143 trainees participated in the assessment.
The assessment is divided into three steps. The first step is the community patient receiving assessment. It selects common and frequently-occurring cases in the grassroots community, and the candidates are required to complete medical history collection, physical examination, case analysis, general medical record writing, etc. The second step is clinical skills operational assessment. It selects 2 items from the 20 skill operation items required by the "Beijing Standardized Training Rules for Assistant General Practitioners" to assess the candidates’ operation skills on the spot. The third step is the assistance of the interpretation of the examination results. It selects common cases from the electrocardiogram, X-ray film, and laboratory test report of the common diseases from the basic community case data. The candidates are required to interpret the results on the spot and write the basis.
Through standardized assessments, the professional quality, medical theoretical knowledge and clinical skills of assistant general practitioners are further improved. It will cultivate a team with strong service capabilities, reasonable structure and excellent quality of general practitioners who can meet the needs of primary medical and health services.
