At the invitation of the sister city of Seoul, South Korea, on June 3, the Beijing Municipal Health Commission participated in "2020 Global Virtual Summit: We Are Together for Jointly Defeating COVID-19". The experts from the commission exchanged their experience in fighting COVID-19 at a video conference with government officials, experts and scholars from South Korea, the United States, the Netherlands and Canada.
An Xuejun, deputy director of Beijing Municipal Health Commission gave a keynote speech at the meeting, sharing the experience of Beijing in epidemic prevention from the aspects of emergency response, case investigation and tracing, nucleic acid testing, patient treatment, traditional Chinese medicine treatment, social mobilization and information disclosure. He also proposed initiatives to deepen international cooperation and face the threat of global infectious diseases, which was fully affirmed by the chairman and participants of the conference. At the meeting, there are also introduction of prevention measures and experience for COVID-19 of other countries. Discussions and exchanges were carried out on the epidemic prevention and control strategy. Finally, the participants unanimously appealed that, in the face of the severe global health challenges of the COVID-19 epidemic, all countries around the world must work together to fight against the epidemic and build a community of healthy and destiny for humanity.
