1. Epidemic overview

In March 2024 (from 0:00 on March 1 to 24:00 on March 31), a total of 68,684 cases of 21 notifiable infectious diseases and 9 deaths were reported in Beijing. The reported diseases are mainly Viral Hepatitis, Dysentery, Tuberculosis, Pertussis, Syphilis, COVID-19, Influenza, Other Infectious Diarrhea, etc. The intensity of the COVID-19 epidemic continues to decline.

2. Health tips

As temperatures rise, there is a risk of infectious diseases spreading in mid-season period of spring and summer. It is necessary for citizens and relevant collective units to still increase their awareness of disease prevention and take good health protection. First, it is recommended to open windows frequently for ventilation to improve indoor air quality, clean and disinfect the floors and desktops at home regularly to reduce the bacteria and viruses. Second, it is necessary to pay attention to weather changes and add or remove clothing in a timely manner. It is suggested to pay attention to hand hygiene, cough etiquette, and develop good personal living habits. Third, it is necessary for primary and secondary schools, child care institutions, elderly care institutions and crowded places to continue to take measures such as daily cleaning and disinfection and ventilation, and strengthen health monitoring, drinking water and food hygiene management. Fourth, school-age children should be vaccinated against the immunization schedule in a timely manner according to the procedures. Key groups are encouraged to actively receive the COVID-19 vaccine containing the antigen component of the XBB variant strain. Fifth, travelers should take personal protection, avoid drink raw water, or picking or eating wild mushrooms and wild plants, and try to avoid sitting or lying in grass, woods and other environments for long periods of time to prevent tick bites.
