I. Epidemic overview

During the 38th week of 2021, there were a total of 1178 cases of 14 kinds of legal infectious diseases reported, and 7 cases died in Beijing. The top five diseases with a large number of cases are Other Infectious Diarrhea, Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease, Tuberculosis, Influenza, and Dysentery, accounting for 79.8% of the total number of cases of legal infectious diseases.

II. Health tips for key epidemic situation

The number of reported cases of legal infectious diseases in Beijing this week has slightly decreased compared with last week, and is generally at a low level. Intestinal infectious diseases (Dysentery, Other Infectious Diarrhea, and Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease) are the main reported diseases, the cases of which accounted for 58.1% of the reported number.

While the National Day holiday is approaching, cities around the country are about to experience the peak period of travel and people visiting relatives and friends. Since there are still many medium or high-risk areas in the country, and the global epidemic is still spreading, the epidemic prevention and control work is severe and complicated, and people must keep vigilant. Citizen should continue to strengthen the awareness of epidemic prevention and control. During holidays, it is necessary to avoid going to areas with high risk of the epidemic, especially avoid unnecessary cross-border travel. It is recommended to strengthen self-protection measures such as insisting on wearing masks scientifically, maintaining social distancing, good personal health habits, and frequent ventilation. It is not advised to participate in activities with many people or at confined spaces with poor ventilation. Before traveling, you should learn about the policies and measures of the destination on epidemic prevention in advance, and prepare personal protective equipment such as masks, disinfectants, and disinfectant wipes. During traveling, when taking airplanes, trains, cars, ships and other transportation methods, you must abide by order and management requirements by the crew, wear masks throughout the journey, do good hand cleaning, and properly keep receipts for itinerary inquiries. If symptoms such as fever, dry cough, fatigue, decreased or loss sense of smell or taste during the journey, you should go to the nearest medical institution immediately with proper disinfection measures and cancel or suspend the journey. After returning from travel, you should observe the health status of yourself for 14 days. Once there are suspicious symptoms, you should seek medical attention in time and actively inform the doctor of your travel history and take measures to prevent infection to others. In addition, it is necessary to avoid entering animal habitats such as wild birds and marmots. Touching or eating wild animals, uncooked animal products or unsterilized milk should be avoided either. Personal protection measures should be taken in field activities to prevent tick bites during sitting or lying in the main habitat of ticks such as grass and woods for a long time.
