From:Beijing Municipal Health Commission
Date:09/18/2020

  I. Epidemic overview

During the 35th week of 2020, there were a total of 879 cases of 12 kinds  of legal infectious diseases reported, and 3 cases died in the city. The top  five diseases with a large number of cases are Other Infectious Diarrhea,  Tuberculosis, Syphilis, Dysentery, and Viral Hepatitis, accounting for 86.8% of  the total number of cases of legal infectious diseases.

II. Health tips for key epidemic situation

Compared with last week, the number of reported cases of infectious  diseases increased by 0.7%, and cases of intestinal infectious diseases  accounted for 45.3% of the reported cases this week. The summer heat still  exists in the early autumn, and high temperature and humidity are conducive to  the growth, reproduction and spread of intestinal pathogenic microorganisms. It  is especially important to prevent clusters of norovirus infections in densely  populated places such as schools and kindergartens as the school season  approaching. Citizens should develop good dietary hygiene habits, maintain good  hand hygiene, and avoid close contact with patients. If you are infected with  norovirus, it is necessary to stay at home or stay at hospital according to the  condition of the disease and be quarantined for 3 days after the complete  disappearance of the symptoms. The patient's home environment should be  disinfected. In addition, norovirus infection has generally mild symptoms, short  duration and good prognosis. Patients should take adequate rest and have a light  diet. If symptoms of vomiting and diarrhea are severe, you should seek medical  treatment in time.

At present, there have been no cases of COVID-19 reported in Beijing for  three consecutive weeks, but the overseas epidemic is still expanding. As the  order of production and life in the city accelerates to return to normal, the  intensity of economic activities has risen sharply, schools have opened one  after another, and the flow of personnel has increased significantly. The  epidemic prevention and control is still a hard task. Citizens, especially  students, must do a good job of self-health monitoring and actively cooperate  with prevention and control management. If you feel unwell, seek medical advice  promptly. People with fever or respiratory symptoms, or those who have had close  contact with patients with respiratory infections recently, should try not to  take public transportation or travel afar.
