From:Beijing Municipal Health Commission
Date:08/27/2020

  I. Epidemic overview

During the 32nd week of 2020, there were a total of 883 cases of 14 kinds  of legal infectious diseases reported, and 4 cases died in the city. The top  five diseases with a large number of cases are Other Infectious Diarrhea,  Tuberculosis, Syphilis, Dysentery, and Viral Hepatitis, accounting for 88.6% of  the total number of cases of legal infectious diseases.

II. Health tips for key epidemic situation

Compared with last week, the number of reported cases of infectious  diseases has increased by 9.6%. At present, it is in the season of high  incidence of intestinal infectious diseases in summer. The diseases reported are  mainly intestinal infectious diseases, and cases of Other Infectious Diarrhea  and Dysentery account for 47.7% of reported cases. The recent heavy rainfall in  Beijing is conducive to the growth, reproduction and spread of intestinal  pathogenic microorganisms. Citizens should effectively enhance the awareness of  the prevention and control of intestinal infectious diseases, and prevent  diseases from entering the mouth. It is necessary to ensure that the food is  cooked thoroughly, separate cooked and raw foods, clean the tableware in time,  wash hands before meals and using toilets, do not drink raw water, and drop  garbage in time to prevent mosquitoes and flies from breeding, and reduce  intestinal infectious diseases. If symptoms such as diarrhea and vomiting occur,  you should seek medical care in a timely manner, follow the doctor's advice, and  cooperate with infectious disease isolation. It is advised to maintain a  positive mental state and maintain a good life pattern.

The current overseas epidemic situation is still not optimistic. At the  same time, domestic epidemics have rebounded in Hong Kong, Xinjiang, Dalian and  other places. Citizens should still take preventive measures and stay vigilant,  reduce gatherings, maintain good hygienic habits, especially hand hygiene at all  times, and wear masks when taking public transportation or going to public  places. Citizens should do self-monitoring of their health, and consult with  regular medical institutions for treatment if feeling unwell. Citizens are  anticipated to continue to support and cooperate with communities in prevention  and control of COVID-19, maintain self-protection awareness, and be the first  person responsible for their own health. We will work together to create a  healthy community!

The situation of the COVID-19 cases in our city could be found in the  epidemic information released by the Beijing Municipal Health Commission in  time.
