In the summer season, the dog days are over or approaching the end. The hot  summer days in most parts of China are about to end, and the weather will  gradually cool down. After the hot weather, the climate is usually characterized  by "coolness" and "dryness". The large temperature difference between day and  night is easy to cause colds. It is also a period of high incidence of  infectious diarrhea. Citizens should keep early hours to avoid getting colds,  which is the key to health maintenance. There is a saying among the folks in  China that “clothing randomly in February and August”. It means that the  temperature in early autumn is unstable, and clothes should be added or removed  as the temperature changes. Generally, the principle of dressing at this time is  to feel cool and not to feel cold. Since the umbilicus is the most susceptible  part of the human body to cold. The coldness at this area will affect the  function of the spleen and stomach, causing loss of appetite, abdominal pain and  diarrhea, etc. Therefore, while enjoy the coolness in autumn, you should also  pay attention to keeping the umbilical warm, and do not wear or wear less  midriff-baring tops. Since the weather is dry in autumn, it is advised eat less  spicy, fried, and barbecued foods. Hot ingredients such as chili, pepper,  aniseed, and cinnamon should not be used too much to avoid making the situation  worse. On the one hand, when balancing the diet in autumn, you should pay  attention to nourishing yin and moistening the lungs by eating honey, sesame,  lily, lotus seeds, etc. On the other hand, you should pay attention to  strengthening the spleen and replenishing qi by eating more whole grains, beans,  fungus, yam, red dates and other appetizing and digestive foods. It is also  suggested to eat less raw and cold fruits and iced drinks to avoid diarrhea. To  prevent autumn dryness, you should drink enough water in time. Drinking a glass  of water with honey at night or eating a pear or persimmon can help relieve  dryness. After the hot days, the temperature at night is low, and you may even  feel cold. You should try to avoid staying up late at night. If you feel sleepy  during the day, you can continue the nap habit at noon. It is appropriate to  take a nap for half an hour to an hour. At night, you should close doors and  windows and cover your abdomen with a thin quilt to prevent the spleen and  stomach from getting cold at night. But it is not suitable to use thick quilt or  cover the whole body to avoid disease caused by too much sweat. After the hot  days, you can do appropriate exercises in the morning and evening. The  temperature is still high at noon, so you should still avoid outdoor sports at  that time.
